The IEA was formed in 1977, just 15 months after PNG’s Independence, to take over the schools which had previously been operated by the Australian Government to serve expatriate students.
Much has changed since those early days. Today around 80 per cent of our teachers and 90 per cent of our students are Papua New Guineans and we are mostly focussed on educating the Nation’s future leaders. Of course, we remain the only serious choice for expatriates coming as families to PNG.
With so much experience in education in a developing country, we are in an ideal position to help other educators and businesses to achieve their goals, both within PNG and overseas.
